Walk the remote places with our professional locals and learn about their sustainable lifestyles. Explore the best of Meghalaya with our hikes and treks and a real cave exploration (with all safety measures & safety gears).
Get picked up by our representative at Guwahati Airport and drive towards Shillong. Enroute enjoy the scenic landscapes. You can stop over at Umiam lake if time permits, or you can cover Umiam lake on the last day. Umiam Lake is one of the largest artificially created lakes. The first Hydel Power Project in this North-East Indian State is formed by Umiam Lake dam. People can try numerous water sports here (at member discretion, pay directly). After reaching Shillong guest house, unwind for the evening and enjoy your comfortable stay.
After Breakfast, we head towards Sohra (Cherrapunji), where we’ll meet our outdoor professional guide who will brief you & give instructions about the activities for the next 3 days. You will be exploring one of the real caves (not the tourist caves) with our professional guide. You will be taken through dark, narrow passages, and wade your way across waist deep water and crawl, while navigating and exploring cave formations. Your overnight stay will be prepared at Sohra.
We’ll take a trek down to the double-decker bridge with our guide. The bridge showcases sustainable alternative ways to conventional bridges. Hike further & you will reach rainbow falls, which is a sight worth beholding. You can choose to spend the rest of your day relaxing here and head back to Nongriat village before it gets dark. Your overnight stay will be prepared at Nongriat Village.
Trek (ascend) back with our guide. After lunch, we will head to the Dwaki river, also known as Wah Umngot. The river is famous for being crystal clear and offers a few water sports too (at member discretion, pay directly). After this, we will head to the Indo-Bangladesh International border and meet our soldiers. You can witness the Retreat, or the ceremony of lowering of the flags here before you head back to Shillong, where your overnight accommodation will be prepared at the Shillong guest house.
Check-out & proceed towards Guwahati. (Enroute visit Umiam Lake if not covered on the first day & if time permits). You will be dropped to Guwahati airport by our representative. Tour ends here.
